President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has dismissed speculation about his health, declaring that he is fit and prepared to resume his activities after returning to Nigeria from his extended working vacation in Europe.

Tinubu made the clarification on Tuesday shortly after arriving in Lagos from Paris, where he spent the final part of his vacation.

Speaking with journalists, the President was asked about concerns raised in some quarters regarding his health during his prolonged stay abroad.

Tinubu dismissed the concerns, insisting that there was no health issue.

“Ready to kick, ready to walk. There’s nothing wrong.

“Rumour will always be emanating from politics, but the facts remain I’m here. Healthy, sound, and ready to go,” the President said.

Tinubu left Nigeria on August 30 for a three-week working vacation in Europe. He first travelled to London before moving to Paris, France.

The Presidency subsequently announced an extension of the President’s stay abroad, explaining that he remained in contact with developments in Nigeria and continued to discharge his responsibilities while away.

His eventual return to Lagos followed weeks of public discussion surrounding his extended absence from the country.

The duration of the President’s stay abroad also became a subject of political debate, with opposition voices questioning the circumstances surrounding the vacation.

The African Action Congress further instituted legal proceedings against Tinubu and the National Assembly, alleging that the President did not notify the legislature before departing the country.

Tinubu is now expected to resume his official engagements in Nigeria, with activities ahead of the October 1 Independence anniversary among those expected to feature on his schedule.
