Bandits have reportedly abducted a newlywed couple, Abiodun David and his wife, Funmilayo Bamidele, at the border areas of Eruku-Iyemero Road, between Kogi and Kwara states.

The couple, said to be returning from their engagement ceremony in Eruku, were intercepted by armed bandits on the road as they were on their way to drop off the best man and other members of the group in Iyamoye, Kogi State.

Confirming the incident, Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Adekimi Ojo, disclosed that the vehicle the party was travelling in was parked at an abandoned police station in Ayetoro, Ekiti State.

Consequently, he said that soldiers and police operatives in the three affected states were jointly combing the bushes for the couple and their abductors.
