A new era of tax administration has begun as the Niger State Internal Revenue Service (NGSIRS) announces that its online tax payment channels are now fully operational.

LEADERSHIP gathered that the platform allows people to pay their taxes directly without going through any intermediary.

Malam Usman N. Umar, the special adviser on Technical and Compliance at NGSIRS, who made the announcement in a press statement, provided details of the digital channels.

According to him, there are five channels for paying taxes to the NGSIRS: Bank Transfer, Online Payments, Parkway Wallet, Bank Branch payments via e-Bill Pay and POS payments.

Umar urged all taxable adults to use the channels from the comfort of their homes and business premises while disclosing that NGSIRS was set to launch a series of media campaigns to educate the public on tax matters in the state.

The statement, therefore, urged all taxable active classes to pay their taxes promptly to enable the administration of Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago to continue serving them better by providing public infrastructure such as schools, roads and hospitals across the state.

LEADERSHIP reported that there have been tremendous improvements in the state’s internally generated revenue over the past few years through various innovations to stop leakages.
